Robert Godwin has been covering the non-profit scene in Austin from the time of blue jeans and backyard barbeques to the black-tie galas of today. With over 20,000 events recorded by word and photo, Godwin leads the leagues in rubber chicken consumption. As a constant witness to the power of publicity, he now seeks to enlist a legion of assistants by sharing his knowledge of the publicity process.
Welcome to Keep Austin Giving.
As part of our mission at St. David’s Foundation to invest in a healthy community, we are launching Keep Austin Giving, to be authored by well-loved local photographer and reporter, Robert Godwin.
We’ll be sharing news on the local scene regarding events and activities of nonprofit groups that are Foundation partners, as well as other health-related news. Check in with us frequently for photos of recent events–who knows, a co-worker, friend or family member might be featured!
The blog will also provide a forum on how to publicize your nonprofit event, fundraiser or volunteer recruitment effort. Look to the blog for suggestions, tips and ideas for ways to effectively promote the work of local nonprofits. We believe it is critical to help tell the story of all the good work being done by the nonprofit community right here in the Austin area.
Our goal is to make Keep Austin Giving a useful resource in getting out the news of your favorite nonprofit organization.
Who publishes Keep Austin Giving?
Keep Austin Giving is a new blog hosted on the website of St. David’s Foundation as an additional way to pursue their mission of investing in a healthy community. Robert Godwin, longtime local photojournalist, will provide his reporting and insights on the blog.
