The Crystal Ball for Helping Hand Home

Posted at March 27, 2014 by Comments Off on The Crystal Ball for Helping Hand Home

With 70 years of preceding galas, one would think the 71st would be flawless. Thanks to Gala Chairs Beth Plater and Terri Von Dohlen leading a fantastic committee, such was the case. The 71st Crystal Ball at the Palmer Events Center was indeed a “Spring Evening in Austin” with a tremendous crowd. Extraordinary support on the part of local businesses and citizens ensures the continuation of support for the Helping Hand Home. Special thanks go to Jim Spencer (KXAN) for his 22nd stint as emcee–and for the excellent weather.

The mission of the home is “to maintain a therapeutic home for children and to restore each child to a healthy family setting.” That mission is made possible by faithful volunteers and financial support from across Austin.
