Robert Godwin

Robert Godwin has been covering the non-profit scene in Austin from the time of blue jeans and backyard barbeques to the black-tie galas of today. With over 20,000 events recorded by word and photo, Godwin leads the leagues in rubber chicken consumption. As a constant witness to the power of publicity, he now seeks to enlist a legion of assistants by sharing his knowledge of the publicity process.

The 2013 Austin Go Red for Women Summit brought quite the crowd to the Hilton Austin. “Say Yes to Less Stress” was presented by Dr. John and Aida Dieck to start the day. They were followed by Suzanne Parker with “Stretch Your Limits.” Then a panel discussion featured Stanley Wang, MD, Roopal Bhatt, MD and Tarie Beldin, RD, LD which allowed the crowd to “Ask the Doctors.” A heart-healthy luncheon was followed by a Go Red Survivor Fashion Show with keynote address by Kathy Valentine.

“Through the ten years of Go Red, 23 percent more women are aware that heart disease is their number one killer.” Research and healthy behavior changes result in fewer women dying of heart disease each year.
