The Black and White Gala Boosts Boys and Girls Club

A sold-out crowd arrived at the AT&T Center for the Black and White Gala benefiting the Boys and Girls Club. Guests arrived and immediately started finding treasures in the silent auction while listening to the music of Bruce Hughes and “Scrappy” Jud Newcomb. It took some doing to pry them away from the auction and into the ballroom for dinner. After a greeting by Board President Gary Keil, attendees got quite the preview of things to come from artist Michael Israel. What initially looked like random splashing of paint turned into an amazing portrait of John Lennon. Israel definitely puts the “performance” into art. Lots more fun and fundraising filled the remainder of the evening.
