First Edition Literary Gala

The First Edition Literary Gala is the start of the Texas Book Festival. As such, it draws a crowd from across the country with a fundamental common interest in literature–and a thousand different opinions on achieving “literature.” Those opinions flowed fast and furious at the AT&T Center as those attending visited before dinner and the program. Always a highlight of this time is the silent auction as it is filled with truly priceless treasures that are usually unavailable except for the auction. An equal treat awaited inside with both dinner and the featured authors–Robert Caro, Tony Danza and Cheryl Strayed. Proceeds from the event support libraries throughout the state.
