Authentic Mexico Gourmet Gala for MexNet Alliance

Posted at September 18, 2012 by Comments Off on Authentic Mexico Gourmet Gala for MexNet Alliance

The annual Authentic Mexico Gourmet Gala benefiting the MexNet Alliance brought a sold-out crowd to the Long Center for an evening of dining and music. Event Co-Chairs included the Honorable Rosalba Ojeda (Consul General of Mexico in Austin), Teresa and Joe Long, Monica Peraza (President-MexNet Alliance). Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Garza served as Honorary Chairs.  Additional celebration was in order as the day marked the 202nd anniversary of Mexico’s independence.

Guests braved the rain to fill the Orchestra Lobby of the Long Center and enjoy libations and hors d’oeuvres while visiting. They then entered the Dell Hall for dinner and the program on the stage. David Garrido and Ines Morel Coudurier coordinated the chefs who included guest of honor Chef Carmen “Titita” Ramirez Degollado of Mexico City.

The MexNet Alliance provides “opportunities to Spanish-speaking individuals that have a small business or are planning one.” Funds from the Gala will be used for “curriculum development, increasing the frequency of workshops, expanding MexNet to other cities and acquiring office space.”
