Chef’s Tables to Benefit Water to Thrive

Posted at February 11, 2012 by Comments Off on Chef’s Tables to Benefit Water to Thrive

Imagine a two to three hour hike to fill a 10 gallon jug followed by that three hour hike back home—every single day. Such is a fact of life for many women and children in Africa. Water to Thrive is a faith-based non-profit that focuses on bringing clean safe water to rural communities in Africa. To that end, they have come up with an extraordinary fundraiser—Chef’s Table Austin. Friends and fans gathered on the 55th floor of the Austonian to launch the auction action. Most of the chefs were present to talk about the menus they created with this auction in mind. The auction only lasts two weeks, so go to www.chefstableaustin.org to get more information, meet the chefs, see the menus and place your bids. Have an extraordinary dinner and save some lives at the same time—pretty much a win all the way around.
