Latinitas Celebrate 10 years at GivingCity Austin 10th Issue Launch
Friends and fans of Latinitas and GivingCity magazine jammed the Center Sixty-One space at the People Fund Building for a double celebration—10 years of service for Latinitas and 10 issues of GivingCity magazine.
Latinitas is a non-profit organization “dedicated to empowering young Latinas through media and technology.” Their outreach programs “help Hispanic girls build confidence, develop skills, discover their voice and learn how to become the next generation of multimedia producers.”
GivingCity is now a project of the Austin Community Foundation. Editor –in-Chief Monica Williams targets Central Texans “who step up and get involved” in lifting the entire community with their work in philanthropy.
Robert Godwin has been covering the non-profit scene in Austin from the time of blue jeans and backyard barbeques to the black-tie galas of today. With over 20,000 events recorded by word and photo, Godwin leads the leagues in rubber chicken consumption. As a constant witness to the power of publicity, he now seeks to enlist a legion of assistants by sharing his knowledge of the publicity process.
