Posted at September 9, 2011 by Comments Off on Event Press Release 101

With the incredible number of events each year in Austin, it’s just not possible for professional media representation at every event. What is possible is to have the story of the event told by submitting your own photos and story. Following some basic rules while writing the story makes it more possible for your story to be published.

1. Always provide the 5 W’s
2. Provide pre- and post-event releases
3. Be clear and accurate
4. Don’t promise what you can’t deliver
5. Follow up
6. Keep the audience in mind
7. Say thanks!

For a more detailed explanation of these basic rules, Event Press Release 101.
